In a first-of-its-kind direct partnership, Ford EV owners will be able to use adapters and connect with more than 12,000 Tesla Superchargers from next year.

The partnership is aimed at increasing the accessibility of charging stations across the US and Canada.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Ford leader Jim Farley announced the agreement at a Twitter Spaces event Thursday.

In addition to the Superchargers, Ford will also continue to provide its BlueOval charging network.
