The automaker hiked prices of three models it produces in Mexico—Mustang Mach-E electric SUV, Maverick pickup, and Bronco Sport—becoming the first major carmaker to pass some of the cost of President Donald Trump’s tariffs onto the customers, per Reuters.

The prices will increase by as much as $2,000 effective May 2.

Earlier this week, the second-biggest automaker in the country said President Trump’s trade war would cost the company $2.5 billion for 2025.

According to the company spokesperson, the price hikes arrive at the “usual” mid-year pricing actions, “combined with some tariffs we are facing. We have not passed on the full cost of tariffs to our customers.”

Amid pushback from the auto industry, Trump softened tariffs on steel and aluminum imports for car companies to avoid double taxation. The White House’s 25% tariff on imported vehicles remains in place.
