JetBlue’s BlueHouse at JFK airport in NYC is limited to up to 140 people|JetBlue Newsroom
Low-cost airline JetBlue Airways is opening its first-ever airport lounge at the John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on December 18, competing with larger carriers like Delta Air Lines.
Named BlueHouse, the 9,000-square-foot, two-floor space is inspired by a spacious New York City apartment and has amenities like Wi-Fi and food.
The lounge’s capacity is limited to up to 140 people, a strategy to attract high-end leisure travelers and boost profitability.
Access to BlueHouse is initially limited and will be complimentary for customers booked in Mint trans-Atlantic business class, holders of the JetBlue Premier Mastercard, and travelers with the top-tier Mosaic 4 elite frequent flyer status.
Travelers can bring one guest for free, and each additional guest will be charged $39.
JetBlue also plans to open a second BlueHouse at its Boston hub next year, joining competitors like Delta and various credit card companies in the lounge race.
