Searchers have found the debris of the wreckage of the missing stealth fighter jet in South Carolina on Monday evening, a day after it disappeared after the pilot safely ejected from the plane due to an in-flight mishap.

The missing $100 million F-35B Lightning II jet attracted significant attention after Joint Base Charleston asked the public to call if they had any information about the lost plane.

The 24 hours the plane was missing had prompted widespread speculation and even had Representative Nancy Mace, a South Carolina Republican, ask, “How in the h*ll do you lose an F-35?” on X.

The pilot ejected the craft while the plane was still on autopilot. Authorities believed it could have kept cruising for a while, and due to its design, it’s untraceable while flying.
