English musician Harry Styles “did not spit” on American actor Chris Pine during the screening of “Don’t Worry Darling” at the Venice Film Festival, representatives for both celebrities have confirmed.

A footage that’s being widely circulated on social media shows Styles making a subtle motion with his mouth just as he is about to take a seat next to Pine, suggesting he may have spit.

“Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine,” a spokesperson for Pine said, calling the claims “a ridiculous story” and a “complete fabrication.”

The viral footage raised speculation about rumored conflicts between the stars and crew of Olivia Wilde’s critically acclaimed thriller, which premiered in Venice on Monday.

Drama surrounding the thriller
Florence Pugh, whose “Oscar-worthy performance” in the film has garnered wide praise, was rumored to have had a fallout with Wilde, who claimed a few weeks ago that she had to fire actor Shia LaBeouf due to his “combative energy” and to ensure Pugh felt “safe” on set.
