For the first time, major theater chains nationwide will play a Netflix release—Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery—exclusively for a week, before it releases on the platform.

The streaming service provider and AMC, Regal Cinemas, and Cinemark reached a deal to carry out an exclusive sneak-peak of the sequel to the 2019 mystery hit Knives Out.

Over 600 theaters are set to run the Daniel Craig starrer from November 23, exactly a month before Netflix’s release, on December 23.

Theater chains have refused to play Netflix’s movies in the past, but now both agree that a mutually beneficial relationship is good for business.

‘Knives Out’ was one of the biggest hits of 2019, with a box office of more than $311 million in ticket sales.
