The HBO Max comedy Hacks made Emmy history by earning 24 nominations for its fifth and final season, the most nods for any comedy ever. The streamer’s The Pitt scored 25 nominations, dominating the drama category.
It surpassed the previous record of 23 nominations held by The Bear and The Studio.
Series from HBO and HBO Max received the most nominations, 122. Netflix and Apple TV also celebrated major wins, with 111 and a record 89 nominations, respectively. ABC topped traditional broadcast networks with 40 nominations.
The 78th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards are on September 14.
