The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on Monday in a 3-1 vote, decided to sue tech giant Microsoft to stop its almost $69 billion acquisition of top video game developer Activision Blizzard.

In its press release, FTC indicated past instances of Microsoft acquiring gaming content and using it to suppress competition from rival companies.

Holly Vedova, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Competition said, “Today we seek to stop Microsoft from gaining control over a leading independent game studio and using it to harm competition in multiple dynamic and fast-growing gaming markets.”
