An appeals court yesterday upheld a lower court’s 2021 ruling which favored Apple in the long-running antitrust lawsuit brought by Fortnite-maker Epic Games over App Store fees.

Epic sued Apple in 2020, stating the App Store policies violated federal law since it banned third-party app marketplaces on its operating system.

The legal battle began after the iPhone maker banned Epic’s Fortnite game from the store, citing it provided a way for users to workaround paying the 30% fee on customers’ in-app purchases.

Not only Apple, Google also banned Fortnite from the Play Store for the same reason and faced legal challenges from Epic.
