Sega offers $776M for Angry Birds creator Rovio

Sega is in the process of acquiring the maker of the Angry Birds—Finland’s Rovio Entertainment Oyj—for $776 million, the Japanese gaming giant announced yesterday.

Rovio’s board has accepted the offer, which would be for the entirety of Rovio’s outstanding shares and options.

Rovio games have been downloaded over 5 billion times.
