The Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to hear arguments and decide if President Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan can be enacted.

Oral arguments are set to commence in February 2023 and the pause in debt forgiveness remains in place till then

The announcement comes after the Biden administration requested the SC last month to lift an injunction from a federal appeals court that blocked the plan.

Biden’s student loan relief program would forgive up to $20,000 in student debt. Around 26 million people have already applied for the plan.
