CIA launches its own podcast, ‘The Langley Files’|@CIA|via Twitter

Marking its 75th anniversary, the CIA launched its podcast over the weekend—‘The Langley Files’—in a push to ‘demystify’ its spy work and help people understand its role.

Along with the pod—the first episode of which interviewed CIA Director William Burns—the agency also welcomed a few journalists to its newly-renovated museum in Virginia. It showcases some of the CIA's best-known operations, including the successful raid on Bin Laden’s compound, and the disastrous 1961 operation, the Bay of Pigs.

The museum will not be open to all, but to get a glimpse of the spy world the agency will put spy codes online for the public to try and crack. “Every code can be broken,” the museum’s deputy director, Janelle Neises, said.

It’s not all rosy
The podcast and the museum are seen by the experts as a publicity blitz to improve the agency’s image and “deny” what it does.

You can find the pod on Apple Podcast.
