Elon Musk wants to reboot Vine and asked Twitter engineers to work on the looping-video app’s old code. Vine 2.0 could be ready by the year-end, per Axios.

The billionaire on Sunday launched a Twitter poll and asked if he should bring back the app, to which almost 70% responded “Yes”. Musk is looking at Vine to compete with TikTok. While replying to his poll tweets, he asked, “What could we do to make it better than TikTok?"

One of the most significant differences between the two apps is that Vine suggests videos based on who the user follows. Whereas TikTok has an algorithm that suggests videos.

Twitter bought Vine in 2012 for $30 million and shut it in 2016.
