About 35,000 customers were still without power in Moore County, North Carolina, as of Tuesday night|Rawpixel|CC0 1.0

After four nights without power, tens of thousands of central North Carolina residents may see electricity restored late Wednesday evening, a Duke Energy spokesperson said.

Saturday night, two substations in Moore County were attacked with gunfire. Authorities are still searching for those responsible for the sabotage in what is believed to be “intentional” and “targeted” attacks.

About 35,000 customers were still without power as of Tuesday night. Duke Energy has informed the electricity would be restored “a few thousand at a time.”
