Israel accused of air strike on Iran embassy in Syria, killing 7

Israel has been accused of a missile strike that leveled Iran’s consulate in Damascus, killing two Iranian generals—General Mohammad Ali Reza Zahedia member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and his deputy, and five officers on Monday.

Iran pledged revenge for the attack, while Hamas and the Islamic Jihad accused Israel of deliberate provocation.

The incident risks an escalation of hostilities and the shadow war between the two nations that has been intensifying in recent years.

Additionally,
Israeli airstrikes in Gaza killed four aid workers from World Central Kitchen and their Palestinian driver, prompting condemnation from the charity’s leader, chef Jose Andres. The victims included workers from Britain, Australia and Poland.

Meanwhile, Israel concluded its two-week raid on Gaza’s largest hospital, al-Shifa, leaving it devastated. Concurrently, protests in Israel demand action to free hostages held by Hamas.
