President Donald Trump’s comments come as the 60-day deadline of the US-Iran ceasefire expired
President Donald Trump threatened to bomb Oman if it “gets in the way” of the US blocking Iranian ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
He made the warning while speaking to Fox News’ Trey Yingst.
His comments came as the 60-day deadline of the US-Iran ceasefire expired yesterday, with no formal talks underway and the two sides still trading conflicting demands for a peace deal, including over control of the strait.
Trump reiterated on Truth Social that his primary goal is preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, and added that Washington was in no hurry to reach a deal.
Meanwhile, Tehran has a string of demands, including US forces exiting the region.
The Iran conflict is in its sixth month, driving oil and gas prices higher ahead of the November midterm elections.
