President Donald Trump urged Israel to stop bombing Gaza after Hamas agreed to release all remaining Israeli hostages in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
Hamas’ agreement came as part of Trump’s 20-point peace plan, which he unveiled when Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu visited this week.
However, there are still major disagreements and negotiations needed. Per the plan, Hamas said it was ready to release hostages and hand over power to other Palestinians, but resisted disarming.
Netanyahu agreed to the “first stage” of the plan involving hostages but restated that Israel would end the war on its own terms.
Meanwhile, Israel ordered civilians to evacuate Gaza City, threatening to label those who stay as militants.
