The US Central Command said on X that it hit over 80 Iranian targets

The US military launched massive retaliatory strikes against Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, after Tehran carried out three separate attacks on commercial ships, further weakening an already fragile ceasefire.

The US Central Command said on X that it hit over 80 Iranian targets during the operation. The Trump administration officially revoked the temporary oil waivers issued to Iran under an MOU signed a few weeks ago.

Speaking to reporters at the NATO summit in Turkey, President Donald Trump said the MOU with Iran is “over” and that “it’s just a waste of time” dealing with Tehran.

Oil markets reacted sharply to the developments. Both WTI and Brent crude futures rose more than 5% after news of the strikes and the revocation of Iran's oil waivers.
