Yemen’s Houthis said Saturday they launched a missile at Israel, marking their first direct involvement in the Tehran-backed group’s war against Iran, now in its second month.

At the same time, about 2,500 U.S. Marines trained for amphibious operations arrived in the Middle East aboard the USS Tripoli, signaling a potential escalation.

In a Sunday interview with the Financial Times, President Donald Trump said he would prefer to “take the oil,” comparing the idea to Venezuela, where Washington aims to control the oil industry long-term after capturing the leader Nicolás Maduro.

Trump also suggested he is weighing moves to target key assets, including Kharg Island and uranium supplies.
