There are 24 million millionaires in the US

The US added over 379,000 new millionaires in 2024—an average of 1,000 people per day—according to UBS’ Global Wealth Report.

The figure accounted for more than half of the 680,000 new millionaires worldwide in 2024.

A 23% surge in the S&P 500 and a stable US dollar fueled this growth, making Americans the biggest contributors to global wealth expansion.

The US now has 24 million millionaires, representing 40% of the global total. In comparison, the Asia-Pacific region accounts for 36%, while Europe, the Middle East, and Africa make up 25%.

UBS forecasts continued growth, projecting an additional 5.3 million millionaires worldwide by 2029.
