Prince Harry and six other high-profile figures have lost their London High Court privacy case against the publisher of the British tabloid Daily Mail.

The group, which included Sir Elton John, Baroness Lawrence, actress Liz Hurley, and filmmaker David Furnish, accused publisher Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) of unlawfully gathering information to produce articles.

Judge Matthew Nicklin ruled that the allegations were serious but said the claimants failed to provide enough evidence to prove them. He also dismissed accusations that senior ANL executives misled the Leveson Inquiry.

ANL welcomed the ruling, calling it an overwhelming victory.

During the trial earlier this year, Prince Harry testified, saying media intrusion had made his wife Meghan’s life “an absolute misery.” He had previously settled a similar case against The Sun newspaper.
