Easing food insecurity concerns, Russia has agreed to rejoin the United Nations-brokered deal to ship Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea.

The decision was taken after Kyiv provided written assurances that they wouldn't use shipping corridors for military purposes. However, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin warned they could pull out again “if these guarantees from Ukraine are violated.”

Moscow’s decision to pull out of the deal over the weekend caused a spike in global wheat, corn and rapeseed prices. Russia’s announcement saw a reversal in the trend.
