President Donald Trump administration has already spent about $19 million|The White House

President Donald Trump must pull any remaining television ads promoting his political message and funded by millions in taxpayer dollars, a federal judge ruled Sunday night.

US District Judge Jennifer L. Rochon in New York granted a temporary restraining order supporting a coalition that included the nonpartisan watchdog Common Cause, which challenged the advertisements as an unlawful expenditure of public funds.

In her 14-day temporary restraining order, she barred the Department of Homeland Security from airing the ads or spending more of the $20 million allocated for the campaign.

The government has already spent about $19 million.

The administration argued that the campaign was already ending on Sunday, so the court did not need to intervene.
