A lawsuit against Google alleging the company engages in anti-competitive practices to uphold Play Store monopoly, violating US laws, will proceed as a consumer class action of 21 million individuals.
The class attorneys claim Google used “misleading warnings to deter customers from downloading apps outside the Google Play Store,” adding that the conduct forced consumers to download certain apps with higher prices and limited choices.
The complainants have sought damages of $4.7 billion.
