In a historic first, former US president Bill Clinton testified before the House Oversight Committee in Chappaqua, New York, on Friday and addressed questions related to his connection with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
During the closed-door deposition, Clinton, not accused of any crimes, had a documented association with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein but denied knowing about his illegal activities. He maintained that he “saw nothing” and “did nothing wrong” during their interactions over 20 years ago.
He was asked about specific Epstein file photos, including one featuring him in a hot tub with a woman. Clinton stated he did not know the woman and denied having sexual relations with her.
He acknowledged his presence in various Epstein photographs and on the late financier’s flights. He said they were for Clinton Foundation work between 2002 and 2003.
Clinton also testified under oath that he never visited Epstein’s private island and had no contact with him for over a decade before his 2019 arrest.
His testimony followed a similar Congress hearing with his wife and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who also denied any knowledge of Epstein’s illicit activities.
Democrats on the committee want President Trump to be questioned about his Epstein ties.
