The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) issued a travel advisory over the weekend, discouraging visits to Florida as a response to perceived discrimination under the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis.

The notice highlights that Florida is “openly hostile” towards African Americans, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals.

It is the second such travel advisory against Florida in a week. The League of United Latin American Citizens issued a similar travel warning on Wednesday. Equality Florida, a gay rights group, issued one last month.

The advisory comes at a time when the AAA projects nearly 43 million Americans are planning road trips over the Memorial Day weekend.
