A federal judge in Oregon has temporarily barred the Trump administration from deploying any National Guard troops in the state.

Judge Karin Immergut ruled that Washington had overstepped its authority by sending 200 California National Guard members to Portland after her earlier order blocked deployment of Oregon’s Guard.

The judge said the move violated her directive and questioned the administration’s actions.

The 14-day order comes as President Donald Trump pushes to deploy federalized troops in Democratic-run cities like Portland and Chicago, citing threats to federal facilities.

Oregon Governor Tina Kotek and California officials condemned Trump’s move as circumventing the court’s ruling. Kotek insisted there is no need for military intervention.

The Trump administration has appealed the decision, maintaining it acted lawfully to protect federal assets amid ongoing protests against immigration enforcement.
