Former Vice President Kamala Harris said in her new memoir that it was reckless to leave the decision to run for re-election to former president Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden.

In her book 107 Days, Harris argued the stakes were too high for such a personal choice, calling it “recklessness” rather than grace.

The memoir, set for release on September 23 by Simon & Schuster, offers her sharpest criticism yet of Biden’s decision to run for a second term.

Harris reflected on her own difficult position, noting that urging Biden not to run might have been seen as disloyalty.

While she defended Biden’s mental acuity and compassion compared to President Donald Trump, she admitted his age showed through his occasional stumbles.

Harris also revealed tensions with Biden’s team, who she said often undercut her and feared her success could overshadow him.
