Katie Zacharia’s brief stint as White House press secretary ended just days after she took the job.
President Donald Trump confirmed Friday that he had spoken with Zacharia about reconsidering the position after a rocky 14-minute press conference and mounting questions over her claims to be a lawyer, despite never having passed the bar exam.
The White House plans to move Zacharia into another role, with details expected later. Trump said the media had treated her harshly and suggested she did not need to remain in the demanding job.
Before joining the White House, she worked with Trump Media & Technology Group and briefly served at the Department of Homeland Security.
