The Justice Department announced a $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” aimed at compensating those who claim they were singled out by the department under President Joe Biden.

The amount is a nod to the nation’s founding year and comes as America gears up to celebrate its 250th birthday on July 4.

The DOJ announced the fund alongside President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw his $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS over the unauthorized release of his tax records.

Trump is also dropping damage claims regarding the FBI’s 2022 Mar-a-Lago search and the 2016 Russia election interference investigation.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche will appoint a five-member commission to run the fund through December 15, 2028. Critics, including Democrats, blast the program as an illegal slush fund.
