Trump says he would sign order to bring down drug prices

President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social yesterday that he would sign an executive order to cut prices of medicines by 30% to 80% to match other countries.

The US pays the most in the world for many prescription drugs. In his post, the president said the country would pay “the same price as the Nation that pays the lowest price anywhere in the World.”

This is not the first time President Trump has tried to tie drug prices to what other countries pay. However, drugmakers have consistently pushed back on earlier efforts, claiming that such a move would restrict innovation as revenue would decline.
