The six-second video app Vine is back after nine years, with a new name—DiVine.

The app, funded by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey and created by early Twitter employee Evan Henshaw-Plath, launches with more than 100,000 archived Vine clips and allows users to film new videos as long as they’re human-made.

It will actively flag and block suspected AI content, a direct response to what its creators call “AI slop” overwhelming mainstream platforms.

Henshaw-Plath said DiVine wants to restore “real content made by real people” and build human connections without algorithm-driven feeds or ad-based manipulation.

Dorsey funded DiVine through his nonprofit And Other Stuff to support alternative social platforms built on open, permissionless protocols. The app is now in beta testing on iOS and Android.
