FIFA has tripled the price of its most expensive tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, with premium seats now costing $32,970 for the July 19 match at MetLife Stadium.

Tickets for the US opener against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium start at more than $1,100. In comparison, semifinal seats in Texas and Atlanta cost more than $10,000 in premium sections, triggering backlash from US lawmakers and fans.

On FIFA’s resale marketplace, some World Cup final tickets appeared for as much as $11.5 million.

Congress questions FIFA pricing
New Jersey Democrats Nellie Pou and Frank Pallone Jr. asked FIFA President Gianni Infantino to explain the organization’s pricing system, saying fluctuating costs and limited ticket availability could make matches unaffordable for many supporters. They also criticized the unclear seat maps.

Infantino defended the prices, saying FIFA follows US market rates and blamed extreme resale rates on ticket resellers.

According to FIFA figures, over 5 million tickets out of the estimated 6 million total for the tournament have been sold so far.
