In just two days, six top-tier employees, including the CEO and officers of financial, legal, and customer relations teams have left the microblogging platform.

Agencies pause ads
Such mass exodus from leadership positions has spooked advertisers, who make up almost 90% of Twitter’s revenue. Ad giant Interpublic Group (IPG) whose clients include American Express, Coca-Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Mattel, and Spotify has advised a “temporary pause” on Twitter ad spending.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, announced the move to monetize blue tick verification. “Power to the people! Blue for $8/month,” he tweeted. Several long-time users feel buying verification marks may increase imposter accounts and decrease the legitimacy of information shared on Twitter.
