Meta AI was recently integrated into Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, and not everyone is a fan of it.
Why?
Users expressed frustration with the sudden Meta AI integration, particularly in the search function. Clicking on the search bar now activates its AI function instead of providing typical search results.
Several users feel this change disrupts their experience and makes the search function less efficient.
Meta has also expanded the availability of its AI assistant to desktop users through a dedicated website.
While the company has heavily invested in AI development, including the latest Llama 3 model, users remain skeptical about AI’s widespread integration into their daily social media interactions.
Despite complaints, Meta has not provided an official way to disable the AI assistant. Users can reportedly hide the AI button in WhatsApp by going to Settings→Chats→Show Meta AI button.
Some users remain critical of the tech giant’s increasing reliance on AI, feeling that it diminishes the user experience and may eventually replace traditional search functionality entirely.
