Meta is launching smart glasses this summer in collaboration with Oakley, priced at $399. A limited-edition gold-accented glass costing $499 will also be available from July 11.
The Oakley Meta HSTN, like its Ray-Ban predecessors, will enable users to check the weather, record videos, and interact with Meta AI via a companion app. It is targeted at athletes due to its water resistance, longer battery life, and 3K video recording capabilities.
The new glasses are part of Meta’s multi-year deal with EssilorLuxottica, the parent company behind Ray-Ban and Oakley.
The Mark Zuckerberg company has already sold 2 million smart glasses. EssilorLuxottica aims to hit 10 million annually by 2026. Meta is also eyeing a luxury drop with Prada.
Meanwhile, rivals like Google owner Alphabet signed a $150 million deal with Warby Parker to make smart glasses powered by Gemini AI. Snap says it will unveil new AR smart glasses in 2026.
