Twitter has delayed paid blue checks and plans its rollout after the midterms, per CNN. In other news, the company laid off some of its employees by mistake.

The delay came a day after it released an updated version on iOS, promising blue ticks for everyone who paid $7.99.

More to the delay
Over the weekend, celebrities changed their Twitter display names and tweeted as ‘Elon Musk’ as a reaction to his decision of paid verification.

In response, Musk tweeted, “Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended.” He also added that name changes on Twitter will, “cause temporary loss of verified checkmark.”

Laid off by mistake
Continuing the chaos offline—over the weekend—Twitter management realized it had mistakenly laid off some of its 3,700 employees.

According to Bloomberg, some employees were either laid off by mistake or fired before top management could realize their value in implementing Musk's features for Twitter. These employees are requested to return.
