A fast-approaching nor’easter, a cyclone that moves along the Northeast coast, has put millions on flood, rain, and wind alerts through the weekend.
The storm has triggered states of emergency in New York City, Long Island, New York, and New Jersey.
High-profile events including Ed Sheeran’s Gillette Stadium concerts, the Global Citizen Festival in New York, and Maryland’s Oceans Calling have been canceled.
The nor’easter is expected to impact today through Sunday and bring up to 12-foot waves from the Outer Banks to New Jersey.
High wind warnings are active along the Jersey Shore, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and NYC, with gusts reaching up to 60 mph. Heavy rain of two to six inches could hit these regions and areas from Delaware to Maine.

The storm is expected to weaken near New England on Monday, though rain could continue into next week.
