The Gilgo Beach murders reached a major turning point yesterday with a former architect admitting to killing eight women and dumping their bodies along Long Island’s coastline.

Rex Heuermann, 62, pleaded guilty in court, confessing that he strangled the victims and left their remains across Gilgo Beach, Manorville, and Southampton.

The killings, spanning from the 1990s to 2010, shocked the nation for years. Authorities solved the case using DNA evidence and cellphone data.

Heuermann is expected to receive multiple life sentences without parole when he is sentenced on June 17. He also agreed to cooperate with the FBI.
