President Joe Biden met his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping, Monday for three hours ahead of the G20 Summit at Bali, their first in-person meeting since Biden took office.

The two presidents discussed their intentions and priorities on global and internal matters, including Taiwan.

President Biden told reporters “there need be no new Cold War,” between the countries after the meeting.

One positive outcome of the meeting: The US and China have agreed to resume talks on climate change.
