The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived at the G7 summit in Japan Saturday, to urge the world’s largest democracies to stay with Kyiv.

Zelensky’s arrival came sometime after Washington announced it would train Ukrainian pilots on America-made F-16s.

A few hours after the Ukrainian President landed in Japan, the Russian government announced its forces had taken control of Bakhmut, a city of importance to Moscow.

On the sidelines of the summit, Zelensky also met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi—the first in-person meeting since Russia’s invasion began.
