TikTok has launched a new app, PineDrama, in the US and Brazil, focusing entirely on short, bingeable microdramas.
Episodes are just one minute long and explore popular themes like romance, betrayal, and the supernatural. Shows such as Love at First Bite and The Officer Fell for Me have already drawn massive attention, with some series surpassing 100 million views, according to in-app data.
The app feels like TikTok but focuses on short, TV-style stories rather than random clips.
PineDrama is free on both iOS and Android, offers no ads, and lets users log in with their TikTok accounts.
Unlike competitors such as DramaBox or ReelShort, which often charge up to $20 per week after a few free episodes, PineDrama currently lets users watch all content for free.
Analysts estimate the US microdrama market generated $1.3 billion in 2025, though high marketing costs remain a concern.
TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, already runs similar platforms in Asia, signaling strong confidence in the format’s future.
