Under a proposed deal aimed at keeping the app operational in the United States, ByteDance is set to retain around half of TikTok’s US profits, even after selling a stake to an American investor group of US investors, according to Bloomberg.
People familiar with the seal told the publication that this would come through a licensing fee for TikTok’s algorithm and a profit share aligned with ByteDance’s remaining equity in the company.
