Data analytics platform Databricks announced yesterday that it will acquire Neon in a $1 billion deal, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The deal would allow the company to integrate the startup’s serverless database tech with its own data intelligence services for greater efficiency for its users in deploying AI bots.

For now, Neon will remain a separate entity but later integrate into the Databricks platform.
