Netflix beat analyst expectations and reported $11.08 billion in Q2 revenue

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos signaled the streaming giant may explore more generative AI in its productions, highlighting its ability to cut costs and enhance storytelling.

Sarandos pointed out that Netflix original series The Eternaut carried the streaming platform’s first-ever generative AI visual effects scene. It depicted a building collapse in Buenos Aires.

He said the AI-powered sequence was completed 10 times faster than traditional methods, enabling high-quality visuals on a modest budget with a local cast and crew.

The CEO’s remarks came as Netflix beat analyst expectations and reported $11.08 billion in Q2 revenue, a 15.9% increase compared to the same quarter in 2024.

Netflix also raised its full-year revenue forecast to between $44.8 billion and $45.2 billion.
