Two Trump Organization subsidiaries were found guilty of criminal tax fraud in a New York City trial this Tuesday and will face up to $1.6 million in fines.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L Bragg, Jr announced that The Trump Corp. and Trump Payroll Corp. were guilty of, “engaging in a 15-year scheme to defraud, as well as for conspiracy, criminal tax fraud and falsifying business records.”

The Trump Organization CFO, Allen Weisselberg, pleaded guilty to the crimes in August and testified during Tuesday’s trial as part of his plea deal.

Weisselberg admitted to hiding salary details that were in the form of an untaxed luxury apartment, Mercedes-Benz leases, and private school tuition for his grandchildren.

The sentencing for this case will be in mid-January 2023.
