A former morgue manager from Harvard Medical School (HMS) is facing charges of illegal trafficking of human remains.

Cedric Lodge and his wife Denise, along with three others, have been indicted for the unlawful sales and interstate transport of stolen body parts donated to HMS between 2018-2022.

Lodge is accused of taking organs that were meant for cremation and allegedly selling them to accomplices for profit.

HMS condemned the alleged betrayal and apologized to the families of anatomical donors.
