Even 30 years after its release, Toy Story still has its magic. The 5th installment, featuring Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie, smashed franchise records, bringing in $160 million domestically during its three-day opening weekend.
Toy Story 5 has successfully secured the biggest domestic debut of the year, overtaking Universal’s Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which previously held the top spot with $131.7 million in April.
Internationally, the Disney Pixar film earned $152 million, bringing its estimated global haul to $312 million.
According to EntTelligence, around 11.5 million moviegoers attended over Father’s Day weekend, with over 25% of the audience opting for premium formats like Imax.
Since the first film debuted in 1995, the entire series has grossed more than $3 billion worldwide, with two installments surpassing $1 billion each.
