Actress Gwyneth Paltrow, 50, won the much-talked-about ski crash trial against retired optometrist Terry Sanderson, 76, yesterday. The lawsuit stemmed from a 2016 collision between the two in a Utah ski resort.

The jury found Sanderson solely responsible for the crash. He has to pay Paltrow, a symbolic $1. Sanders had sued Paltrow for $300,000, and the actress had countersued him for $1.

The civil lawsuit saw the 1962 Skier Responsibility Code put to use, according to which, downhill skiers have the right-of-way and must be avoided by uphill skiers.

The publicly-streamed civil trial engulfed the media in the past week due to the affluence and celebrity status of both parties involved.
