A Manhattan jury has ordered Wayne LaPierre, the former head of the National Rifle Association, to repay more than $4.3 million for misusing charitable funds.

After five days of deliberation, the jury found LaPierre and two other executives guilty of violating state charity laws.

Attorney General Letitia James initiated the lawsuit in 2020, accusing NRA insiders of treating the nonprofit as their “personal” bank.

Allegations included lavish spending on private jets and vacations.
